After working in the healing arts for more than 10 years, first as an acupuncturist and hands-on healer herself, and later as an editor working with healers around the world and sharing their incredible stories, Kirem learned one thing is true: Healing is priceless.

The work healers do, quite often, is in the realm of miracles, lying completely beyond the realm of traditional trade and commerce. In many indigenous cultures healers were supported by the community directly, allowing them to focus completely on their medicine in order to keep the village healthy and strong. In modern times where this practice is not present, healers must cover their own costs and expenses, creating a situation where the fees healers charge may not be accessible to all those in need. Kirem believes healing should be accessible to everyone and that it is a shared responsibility to help keep both healers and the collective healthy in mind, body and spirit. We can work together to make more healing possible. This is why she created the Pay It Forward Fund.
